What we did
Sleep-e was a pilot project for us to test the process of building an iOS app and getting it approved by Apple for sale on the App Store. As this was a learning exercise, Signify approached this in a different way to a standard project. We split into teams and ran three separate development streams in parallel, meeting regularly to review progress and exchanges notes.
After a couple of weeks we reviewed the three teams’ work. Team “Sencha Touch” ended up beating teams “jQuery Mobile” and “iOS native. We then refocused our efforts into pushing the Sencha Touch app through to testing.
We ended up with an intuitive user interface, combined with beautiful New Zealand images and sounds. We are especially proud that Sleep-e was accepted by Apple on its first submission, proving that our hours trawling over licencing agreements and Apple app standards were well spent.
